WHALIVE.com: Home of the Worldwide Hold'em Alliance
The Worldwide Hold’em Alliance is an assemblage of poker players located as far west as Detroit, Michigan to as far east as Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Alliance was formed as a means for competitive poker play within the home poker tournament environment.
WHA Texas Hold’em (NL) Series
The Texas Hold’em Series that is displayed on this site consists of 21 poker tournaments in a season which separated into two phases. The first series of tournaments total 20 games and give players a chance to collect points equal to the chip stack for the final (21st) tournament.
Originally assembled as a weekly poker game, WHALIVE.com has grown to involve over 70 players who have played at least once over the past 9 seasons.
Then to Now:
The Souvenir Cup and The Alliance Cup
On June 29, 2006, the (formerly known as) Wyandotte Hold’em Alliance introduced the Souvenir Cup.
This trophy was given to the player that earns the most points at the end of the 20th tournament.
On March 5, 2010, a new trophy unique to the group was unveiled and contains a poker carousel as the base.
In acknowledgement to the advancement of the group and a bond within the past decade, champions from past seasons have chosen to name the new trophy "The Alliance Cup". The new trophy will be presented in the future to the Texas Hold'em (NL) Series Champion.
Players that have their name placed for their first championship are listed in white metal, second championships are listed as silver plated and championships won thereafter are adorned in gold plating.
